address, the distinguished guests and faculty
participated in a ceremonial lamp lighting,
symbolising the official inauguration of the event
and reflecting the hospital’s commitment to
raising awareness on Keratoconus and improving
patient care through education and innovation.
The conference featured insightful scientific
presentations from both national and
international experts, offering a comprehensive
overview of the latest advancements in
keratoconus diagnostics, management, and
visual rehabilitation. Dr Neha Kapur opened
the session with an in-depth presentation on
diagnostics in keratoconus, highlighting state-of- commended the organisers for their efforts in
the-art tools for early detection. Dr Abha Gaur’s
session focused on management strategies,
emphasising the importance of personalised
treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of
each patient, incorporating both traditional and
emerging approaches.
Other notable presentations included Mr.
Sanjay Arora’s discussion on personalised soft
contact lenses, Mr. Mukesh Kumar’s insights on
mastering rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact
lens fitting, and Ms. Anitha Arvind’s session on

the benefits of Rose K lenses for keratoconus
patients. Mr. Bhupesh’s presentation on scleral
contact lens design explored the use of these
lenses in managing advanced keratoconus cases.
Mr Gagan Sahni shared practical tips for scleral
lens fitting, while Ms Shweta Chitranshi delved
into the challenges of fitting these lenses for
keratoconus patients. Mr Vikash Chaturvedi’s
presentation covered innovations in scleral lens
technology, showcasing recent advancements
that are enhancing keratoconus management.
Dr Virender Sangwan presented valuable
insights on World Keratoconus Day, underscoring
the significance of early detection and innovative
treatments in improving patient outcomes. He
advancing awareness and knowledge in the field
of keratoconus.
The conference continued after the tea break
with Ms Monica Chaudhary’s presentation on
the complications associated with long-term
contact lens wear. Padmashree awardee Mr Vipin
Buckshey took a positive approach, discussing
psychological and emotional support strategies
for keratoconus patients and their caregivers.
