ENSURING
EYE SAFETY
TO PREVENT TRAUMATIC INJURIES
n the context of occupational safety,
significant strides have been made in
Ireducing ocular injuries, particularly within
industrial settings. The key components of
effective industrial safety programmes include
several crucial aspects, including the pre-
placement assessment of workers for ocular
disabilities, the provision of protective gear such
as goggles, visors, or masks, comprehensive
education on eye safety protocols, and prompt
diagnosis and treatment of any eye injuries.
Among these measures, the use of safety
glasses stands out as a paramount safeguard,
serving as a protective barrier for the eyes.
However, it's essential to note the stark contrast
between ordinary street glasses and industrial
safety glasses. While they may appear similar
superficially, their composition and design
significantly vary.
