FROM THE
EDITOR’S DESK
Dear Readers,
According to statistics, an estimated 5 billion people, or half the
global population, could be affected by myopia by 2050. This
alarming rise in the prevalence of myopia has grown manifold
over the past few decades and multiple studies have proved
beyond a doubt that myopia is becoming a global pandemic.
In India too, ophthalmologists and eye care professionals across
the country are gradually seeing an increase in children with
high myopia and extensive efforts need to be put in to slow
down the rate of myopia progression as if it is left untreated,
myopia can lead to lasting vision problems.
The issue brings some insights on myopia management
through an interview with Dr Ankit Varshney as well as an
article telling us why it is important to control complications in
high myopic patients by Khushbu More. Also learn more about
the new Nova Myosafe lenses introduced by global brand Nova
to slow down myopia covered in this edition.
On another note, Vogue Eyewear is continuing its partnership
with brand ambassador Taapsee Pannu for the third
consecutive term – do check out the interesting styles donned

such as Fred, Harry Potter, Karavan, Stella McCartney, GCDS
and Maui Jim and read interesting case studies and articles on
