children for distance and near for various
age groups and special populations using
various visual acuity charts by Prof Monica
Chaudhry; evaluation of eye movements and
binocularity and prism prescription by Mr Prem
Kumar Singh.
The second day opened with methods of
functional vision assessment in infants and
children for various age groups and special
groups by both Ms Rupali Singh and Dr Suma
Ganesh; and assessment in children with
low vision by Prof Monica Chaudhry. Case
discussions by the faculty on both days added to
the learning experience.

(PRA), Monocular Estimation Method (MEM)
retinoscopy; oculomotor assessment – DEM,
saccades and pursuits; visual field assessment
– LEA wand, finger puppets, tangent screen,
whiteboard and target; contrast sensitivity and
Colour vision assessment – LEA CS visual charts,
Ishiharas and D-15 test; and prisms for diplopia
management and field expansion.
At the conclusion of the programme
Dr Suma Ganesh felicitated the speakers,
sponsors and knowledge partners with
mementos. All the delegates were presented
with certificates of attendance which carried 10
OCI CE points. They also received distance and
near LEA symbol charts which was sponsored by
Jutron Vision, India.
The feedback from the attendees was
excellent, described variously as a great learning
experience that would be implemented in their
practice, and appreciation for the speakers and
conductors of the workshops.
Those in the field would be pleased to note
that a second workshop on the same lines is
scheduled to be held in Shillong, Meghalaya in
September this year.
